Training needs to be carried out along the whole life-cycle of pesticides - from those involved in pesticide
production, trade and distribution to those applying pesticides and handling old pesticide containers and
obsolete stocks.
Training of a person is mostly done only once and briefly. But investigations have shown that those who are only trained once do not really change their behaviour. People need continuing education. Therefore training is a key activity in implementing the Code.

Suggestion for Action
Get to know the FAO Code of Conduct and make it known more widely either by just talking about it or via organising meetings or seminars to introduce the Code. Only those knowing the Code will support it’s implementation.If you can - help those responsible for training according to the Code carry out their task well.
